So.

+ We all agree that if knacks ping was 600+, sharon was not at fault for kicking him right?
+ Knacks ping was 600+ when he joined the server.
+ Sharon asked him to fix his ping or reconnect.
+ Knacks ping reduced to about 200.
+ Sharon kicked him anyway.

Ok, so it seems to me like sharon was doing the right thing according to GT server rules. From reading, it also seems to me that sharon did not realise that Knacks ping had been reduced, thus kicking him.

There all cleared up! See what can be achieved when a bit of common sense is used?

Those lag spikes in your screenshot are not caused by other players' pings.  Other players pings, however, are impacted by the lag spikes.  If the server is lagging and there are a lot of players with high pings, they have high pings because the server is lagging, not the other way around.  If this is a frequent problem, perhaps you should look into getting the graffiti servers hosted in another location.

That being said, an individual player's lag is often visible to other players.  His movement will be choppy and sometimes he will freeze midair.  This does not cause lag for other players, but it can be annoying.  This is more dependant on packet loss than ping.  Perhaps, despite KnacK's "low" ping, he had severe packet loss and was lagging all over the map.  Perhaps Sharon just made a mistake.  In any case, unless this is repetitive behavior, I don't see why it's such a huge deal.  It's nothing like the "good old days" when you'd get viewgibbed for capturing a flag.

Especially when you shoot them in one place, but they've moved by the time your paint gets there.

Please look below and you will find out why it a big deal.

I want these forums to be a place where people can come to get help, provide feedback, and exchange ideas, not a place to throw insults at each other
I can name several forum members that only threw insults and offered nothing. They act with impunity as if this is their place to insult others.

Despite server or map, these lag spikes happen to me only in DP Jitspoe.

So what your saying there is NO WAY possible for another player to cause the server or other players to lag, or ruin others gaming experience by other means?  :o :o :o

Lekky, thanks. If you ever make it to San Antonio I owe you a dinner for saying what they already know but refused to admit due to something not worth mentioning. I don't think it was a lack of common sense, just a lack of maturity and a blatant attempt to insult someone. Something I tried my hardest to avoid.

*Jitspoe, you mentioned something about GT hosting in a different location. Was that in reference to my location?

Not really. The only realy problem would be if there was lots of packet loss.

Also, you seem to think that you(Read: Everyone) deserve a good gaming experience constantly. That's not the case. As long as no one's breaking the rules (and heaven forbid they do), there's really nothing wrong. You don't like it? Play somewhere else.

loial: I was referring to the fact that Sharon kicked KnacK not being that big of a deal.  As for a player causing lag for other players, if player A has a poor connection, he isn't going to cause player B to lag.  You could cause people to lag and ruin their playing experience, however, by giving everybody autocockers in a small, 1-path map.  That has nothing to do with other players' pings, though.  The hosting comment was merely that GT's servers appear to have had some lag spikes as of late and perhaps the quality of the hosting there has gone down and GT should look into getting hosting elsewhere.

On a lighter note...

Jits,

What about the comments made towards Sharon? How does that help? *Your (you are) ignoring this. Yet again. Why? How many insults must a clan / persons endure before its perfect? Thats 4 questions. I think :)

How many pics of this would you like or from different players?

Good questions, when have you paid for one? For how long? For how many dollars?

Eiii I got four questions above.

I wasn't ignoring it.  That's just not what I was talking about.  You took my comment to be about something it wasn't.

(This was to loial, then jits had to jump in. Shame on you.)
Thats the way I see it. But a more reasonable explanation is that they were provoked by Sharon's actions, even if said actions were by mistake. Also, nothing too hurtful has been said here.

...you kind of implied that being merry is inappropriate though. That's the worst I've seen.

You inferred something that was never intended in my post, shame on you. That is not the worst you ever seen. Comon.

BTW calling someone and idiot is not hurtful?

Thank you Jitspoe.

Please Jitspoe, close this thread and let it die a horrible death. The problem was a minor misunderstanding, and I hope people have understood that. This post is now nothing more than a barrage of useless flaming and taunting.

"I hope people have understood that" To bad it took several days for them to realize this.
