My guess would be that they recorded him shaking his laces loose, played it backwards, and dubbed the audio.

Edit: Saw the YouTube video...that's just ...I have no words for it.

That video is very obviously not reversed, nopyo. ;) If you watch the 'how-to' videos above, it's really obvious that he just did it like that.

Yeah, I might try that trick on my mom sometime, just to give her a heart attack or something.

That trick is done by self tieing shoe laces, they cost 20$.

Whoops, forgot to answer you, Knack.  That video is pretty much what I used to use also, but instead of pulling the string by hand I used a self-retracting badge clip from the place I used to work (think peppermint-sized spring-loaded fishing reel that you attach to an ID badge that you have to wear on your chest and yet still have to swipe for access).

It's a modified tank. Most street magicians are way too hyped. Most of them rely on cameras and audience members who are "in" on the trick. David blaine was notorious with that. All this guy did was add another trick to david blaine's by reaching into the tank to retrieve the card. This is done with a modified tank and slight of hand.
Some healers use the same method for "removing tumors " from people with their bare hands.

Oh he was tackling about the magic?  I was under the impression he was asking how the guy got the girls to talk to him :(

That is easily explained as well. Have something to make them pay attention to you. i.e. a gun.
