Compile on BSP not working...
« on: April 21, 2008, 12:59:44 PM »
When i made my map on BSP (which will be great if it worked), when i compile the map to  qbsp.bat and pressed a key to continue... It says on paintball 2:

can't find map/inprogress/mymap.bsp

why is it doing it?

Please post if you kno what's wrong

Post what the big, black box says (command prompt window).  I almost want to say that you don't have a player spawn but I think the error say something different.

Sounds like you didn't set up BSP correctly, but what is your Paintball 2 directory?

OMG.  This is the same problem every time.  If this happens again im gonna start a thread and I want it stickied.  What happens is when you install a particular version of Paintball (cant remember) then folder /pball/maps/inprogress isn't made.  Its just like some odd text document that doesn't do anything.  Delete that and make it a folder.  Now extract it.

I'd rather people just search and find this one.

No, thats Common Global Login Problems.  Unless I didn't use the "Search Function" well.

Yea, thats the one is was thinking of.  I searched for the solution for this topic but didn't find anything about this specific error.

A quick search yielded: http://dplogin.com/forums/index.php?topic=12149.msg122007 in which Cameron M-A-Zing clearly gives the solution.  We have like 10 stickies in the mapping section - is it really necessary to make one more? I don't think so.

I knew there was another one of these topics and I even posted in it...
I never use Google for searching stuff on the boards.  Guess I should make it a habit to.

That was the topic that I found that problem in.  Until that thread I had this problem.

Uhh, I recommend not using the forums slow search function, but rather just use Google...

Look how simple it is to find this thread: http://www.google.com/search?q=inurl%3Adplogin.com+%22inprogress%2Fmymap%22&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

Never knew about the "inurl:" command.  Learn something new everyday.

As they said, you need to create the "inprogress" directory in paintball2/pball/maps
