my friend and i tired to make a video but using hypercam made his game lag so much that it didnt turn out well. any ideas on any other programs. because having a video on youtube would get way more members.

I believe xfire has a way to record video now.  There's also fraps.  I'm sure both will cause the game to run slower, but I'm not sure how much.

I use gamecam. you get the annoying little gamecam water banner in the corner but it's better than just 30 second recordings with a ton of lag.

Xfire Video capture is still in the beta stage so it naturally lags a little.  The FPS drop a fair amount but nothing that drastic that would affect the game play.

Don't recored it to video live.  Demo it, then record the video from that.  Also, Xfire's video codec is not the best (as mentioned, its still in beta), so I wouldn't recommend it.  Once screen capture program that I know of that is GPL'd is CamStudio.  I haven't played around with it too much, so I am not to sure on the quality, etc., but I think its worth trying out.

Worked fine for me on XP, I even got it to record at 250 FPS, and posted it on youtube.
