Client-Side Text Translation
« on: December 15, 2005, 03:33:34 AM »
Uh, the "Change texts ?" thread ceased to be.  I accidentally clicked on "Remove" instead of "Reply."  Sorry about that.

The good news, though, is that I've implemented something for build 16 that allows translations of certain strings on the client side.  To test it out, I made a simple "l33t" language.  The lang file and a screenshot are attached.

This could be helpful for those of us that would rather see > instead of 'eliminated'.
One of the better features.

It won't work until build 16 is released.

Now that build 16 is out (the test, anyway), you can play around with this.  lang files go in paintball2\pball\configs.

I make my own french.lang but font like this "é à è" dont work
In files of menu  like setup.txt, it's the same things.

Does it work one day or how can I do?

That would require changes to the existing font since those characters aren't present.

Ah, the poor french. Jits, you might want to get on that, for the 'french' build.

It probably won't be possible without doing some kind of rewrite on the whole input and font system.

You can't add or remove the variables (name, gun) but you can modify what goes between them.

The orignal text is in the l337.lang file, you just have to take out the l337 lines.

Noooo... the lang file at the top of the page is all you need. Just replace the 'l337' phrases with your own.
