What is the rcon_password and what does it do?

Before you say, search for it I did.  I also checked on dp rescourses buit that did not clear things up.  I have had my servers up for awhile but never what this was or how to use it.

Can someone please explain it.

That sets the password for the remote console.  Remote console allows you to remotely execute commands as if you were at the server console directly.

Typically it's put in the server config.  As for commands, search the forum for server commands.  I believe there are a few threads about that.

Thanks for the help people.

It would also be good if someone could write a guide to what to do after you get your server running.  This way people don't need to post questions like ... "I can't connect" or "How do I keep up more than one server"  I would be glad to help out.  It kinda like T3RR0R15ST idea it except it would be a guide.

You can execute rcon commands straight from the console while you're connected to the server.  You only need an rcon client if you want to execute those commands without being in the game.
