DPCon 2006 at QuakeCon
« on: January 03, 2006, 11:02:55 PM »
We might as well start planning for this.  I think having DPCon at QuakeCon this year will work out best.  I'm not sure who I need to contact about setting something up, if anybody.  The date an location haven't been announced yet, so keep your eye on http://www.quakecon.org/.

Wow.  That'd be amazing if I could make it... it's like GDC or E3 of my dreams...

I'll try to make it happen if it's possible.  I can't say I'm 100% sure about it, though.  The date/location for QuakeCon hasn't even been set yet.

well, just as for your info... check out the quakecon forums @ quakecon.org also speaking with some of the OPs in #quakecon on ETG could get you some insite.  Also you may want to take into concideration the past few years of quakecon have been in mid-late august in texas. If you'd like i could try and look into it for you

Just because people play this mod doesn't mean they actually play paintball ;)
That's like saying Quake players run around with RPGs, railguns, shotguns and grenades for a few hours after meeting some friends at a lan.
I've got some booked vacation mid-end of August and if they make it a week and a bit later than their typical dates there's the slightest possibility that I could attend.  This would be mostly influenced by the attendance of other eR33t members.

Hah. So true.  Create technology that can bring me back to life and grow new apendages... esentially respawn me... give me a rocket launcher and a rg/lg and ill freaking go fragging...  I'd be dead tired after a few mins but it's all good.  Oh- also need some painkillers... few vicodin's will do.

If a good number of people attend DPCon, that'd be pretty cool.  Going to find out if I can even fit it into my sched.

I just need a solid date to attend. Bain speak for your self but after Lan parties I like to use my built in hyperblaster and make my way to the front of the beer line ;) .

Keep an eye on the quakecon page for a date.  I can't give you one until they come up with one.

I wonder how it will work, taking computers on a plane and all...

you can either pack it really nice and slap a fragile stiker on it then hope for the best, or take it as carry-on if its small enough and try to convince security not to put it through the big x-ray machine which will fry your mobo beyond belief
