Author Topic: 2v2 should not be counted as a match. My thoughts and advice (Read 5818 times)

A 2v2 is a nice scrimmage, or something for bragging rights. taking 2 members of a clan does NOT show how good that clan is.

A 3v3 is as small as a match should ever be. Even with only 3 members of a clan, it still is not how well the clan works together.

A 4v4+ is what a proper match size should be. You NEED teamwork. You can assign positions, attackers, defenders, mid grounders. You can really work the strategy built into a map this way.

Taking my way back machine to when I lead Rust, we stopped accepting 2v2's after realizing this.

But, matches need to be 4v4 or more to really push your clan as a team game.

i agree shreds , 2vs2 isn't a match ,except when members can't join the game together , most of players like playing 1vs1 , its worst ..

why do you bring up stuff that has like 10 topics in this forum already? Most people agree, and most clans don't keep a correct match record.

Sad thing about all of this is... There arent enough people in this community that come on at the same time and are organized enough to start a match when agreed on, instead of people sitting in the server for a hour waiting for the game to start, and keep this up consistently. This is why DP will never be a good clan oriented game. It should be a pub game and stay that way.

I believe 3 or 4 are perfect, as with more than that, the constant respawns take too much tactics out of the game.

"elim" should probably be set to 0 for matches (no respawns).

this might be pushing it but some kind of command so you can chasecam your team only? That seems like it might make people put more strategy in it rather than "oh let's all rush adn hope i can get to the flag" type of gameplay.

many of the new clans will not do anything more than 3v3. We will each have 5 in the server, but no, they cant 4v4.

Thats what the new clans with young leaders in them do. They get all excited about having a clan, want people to join so they go spam as much as they can because they think people will join their clan by doing that (or at least get someones attention). They have never heard of irc, they have never thought of coming onto the forums. They don't know that it irritates people, but they will learn.

If a clan prefers maps like airtime1 or shock as matchmaps,they should stay at the 2v2 system.

When InT was in it's prime we had enough members on to practice 4v4 by ourselves. There were numerous times when we would have 2 separate matches with two different teams at the same time by splitting up our members. It was fun having so many team mates on at one time. When it was 2v2 or 3v3 a lot of the times players would get mad and leave a match. When you have more people playing this doesn't affect the match as much. If you never play 4v4 or more you are missing out.
