Can just as easily throw a 2v2 or 3v3 in there. Would be _more_ of a test run even, to see how much interest will be shown within different ladders, and at the same time please ALL of the public, rather then just people who enjoy 1vs1's.

i just finished my first 1v1 and i thought it was vey fun. sure its zzzz if u only play those with lesser skill than u. that defeats the purpose of playing a game at all though...

While I don't particularly care for 1v1's myself, they're a lot easier to manage.  It's not as simple as just "throwing in 2v2 or 3v3."  With that you have to deal with a whole new layer of complexity dealing with team registrations and whatnot.  It's better to keep things simple at first, see how they work, then throw on some more variables.  I'm sure there will be other ladders soon.
