Good Maps for New Players
« on: April 30, 2009, 10:51:54 PM »
At the CCGA LAN parties I go to, sometimes we will play Paintball2.  Most of the people there have rarely played, if at all.  What are some good maps for new players that would support around 12-18 people?  For some reason, I always have a hard time thinking of some.  They should have multiple paths, but not be confusing, and shouldn't have ice, trick jumps, etc.

pbcup_sassault [Multiple paths, has jumps to increase speed on the map, but you can do everything walking] / or sandassault -> which is slightly slower pace.

pbcup_everglades [ Not many jumps, 2 ways into base. ]

Palmtreea [ Multiple paths, but only 1 'door' to flag ]

NML [ Multiple paths, 1 flag, every path you can walk straight to flag without trickjumps ]

OTH [ 2 flags, 2 high paths and a low, 2 flag can be gotten by a trick jump, or walking up a ramp from mid ]

Fusionr [ Simple map, 2 paths, 1 flag ]

ub_rooftop [ 1 flag, multiple paths ]

TFS / TFS2 [ Simple 1 flag maps with 2 or 3 paths ]

Some of the maps i've named could be small for 12-18, I'm not sure. But they are all rather simple maps with multiple routes. Hope it helps!

I think Nml would work great. Also nhb could be good, there is just that annoying spawn killing :/

Abandon
Kung Fu

kung fu is a good starter. the 2 main paths are easy to follow for new players.

I disagree. If you look at Castle from a nubblets's prespective it is very easy and smooth flowing.
All the tricks and stuff can gradually be discovered.

P.S. bet you didn't know I was the first person to ever successfully make the Castle backdoor jump.

The first map I ever played on DP was castle1. I actually did find it a bit confusing :P It's a bit hard to tell where you are sometimes.

NML, nhd, oth, darkages, siegecastle, ub_rooftop all sounds like they would be good.
