If you made the clan and there is nobody else in it you should be able to join automatically.

I was a leader in 3iob-t. No one else in it, I was able to join, but it didn't give me leader status. Could the issue possibly lie in the server switch?

How about placing this in the ISSUES FOR COMMITTEE section? It can be voted upon if there is no current members. I don't see why they would let you have it. I'll start a thread in the committee's board.
