DigitalPaintServer library
« on: November 10, 2009, 12:35:02 PM »
Hello,

i wanna ask you about DigitalPaintServer.php, on digitalpainball.thisrealm.com was Server Status where were players and servers lists. I have downloaded this library. I'm checking sth around 10 servers ( OTB, Lawl, rP etc) but a main problem is very slow running of this scripts. Problem inst in a internet speed(on my site).. What should i do?

To be honest, I actually think it has something to do with the speed of your host. You might want to check bandwidth, and actually make sure you have php5 installed.

Other than that, I have no experience using the script, although I've tried, I failed, so you might just want to wait till T3RR0R15T, k3y or ic3y replies. They know what there doing.

Also, what are you wanting to use the script for? Are eX getting servers? :p

That would require a lot of work f3l1x.. I think that the script you want won't be able to do what you want it to. To be honest, just make something similar to the serverbrowser tool, but only make it for your [eX] players.

He has already made it before. It works, it's not the point of what he's talking about. He just complains that there's too slow loading and wants to know why.

Reasons
1. you have to much porn downloaded
2. you have to delete alot of things on your pc
3. your pc is full with viruses so use Kasperisky 2010 trial ( Helps alot )
4. your pc just hates you and wants to go slow
5. or you have to update/delete something from the script

Talk about old thread.

The script is not multi-threaded. PHP is not multi-threaded.

If you wish to do it in PHP, then unfortunately you have to roll your own code, and use non-blocking UDP sockets to rapid-fire UDP requests to all the servers, and then spend 1-2 seconds listening for responses.

An alternative is to periodically check using a cronjob/scheduled task.

Or you could use a combo of ajax and php.  However, I wouldn't recommend that to someone who isn't well aware of what they're getting into.
