I don't think that you should tell people not to use fun names. It is in the game to use, so it shouldn't be frowned upon. I think you should focus more on the color parts. Don't make distracting fun names. I don't get why so many people think so many things are wrong when you are aloud to do it in the game. It's just stupid. If you don't like the fun names, then don't play the game. Because it's part of the client and if it was really such a big problem, jitspoe would have removed them when he switched to standalone. Paintball is a very colorful game to begin with. The colors of the player's are fairly bright themselves. Should they be changed too? Just because you don't like them, doesn't mean other people shouldn't use them.

I have to say that I can not take someone seriously if they're using a horribly coloured and unrecognized tag or name.  I think the note on funnames is a good advisory to players who are looking at getting into the (top-tier) clan scene.  The funname may have taken 20mins to make and you think it looks really cool, but lots of better players will just ignore your name whenever they see you on a server.  There's nothing wrong with funnames themselves, lots of top-tier clans have very tasteful funname tags.

Yeah, thats my point though. He said, just don't use them. That's why i said you should focus more on don't make distracting and annoying fun names. Because there are quite a few annoying and distracting fun names. But there's also a lot that pretty slick.

perhaps i should add pictures to my mirc guide...
that would help plenty. you know what else would be good? a guide to using other options. vent, ts and the likes if someone would be good enough to follow in DT's footsteps. Us little guys need all the help we can get.

My contribution:

Dont call new players to DP, newbies.

Respect new players first, dont expect respect from someone who does not know you.

The Clan community needs to foster new players and clans. Not put them down, unless warrented. This really has been addressed about being in a clan requires 'x' amount of time and about having a clan requires 'x' amount of time.

Most important about not integrating but growing a clan community, be friendly for the sake of the game. NAME ONE PERSON OR CLAN THAT LIKES AN excretory openingS? Don't confuse being an excretory opening with humor...........Senior DP clan members should be old enough to act like they care and less like a rebel with out a clue to growth.

Dont double clan.

Get to know people by talking to them live. You will get a better perception of a person and better establish a report with them.

The question should be HOW CAN THE CLAN COMMUNITY INTEGRATE MORE NEWBS.

join the channel you want to create to make sure it hasn't already been registered, and make sure you have ops in the channel (@ next to your name).

Once inside type /msg ChanServ register #myChannel

replacing "myChannel" with the name of your channel.
