Hey I thought it would be a good idea to start a topic about video making to advertize DP a little more to get new players to the game.  Post any DP videos you created about matches, jumps, personal glory or to just show off your team.  So please don’t be shy, and post your vid’s now! Constructive criticism is appreciated, but please don’t try to turn this into a negative thing.

I just made a new DP video myself called: The Rising Star.  I hope people can take a look at it and give me suggestions on how to improve the video for my next one.  I currently use fraps to record clips and sony vegas pro for editing and animations.

Aha nice chemical, those videos are sick, wish i could do some of those backward jumps that he can do lol.  If anyone has good songs for videos post that here too.  My music blows for this sort of thing.

dunno if you want any feedback, but I give anyway:
+ good frags. Maybe some of the clips were too short, it looked like you just needed something to fill time, and added just a kill, lol
+ quality is decent, but maybe cl_fps/pps 0 next time
+ like ur textures. Think its an improvement compared to default set

- too long intro. 250 sec video and more than 10% of that is pointless intro. Also should have worked on the video description a bit more. Like added the games full name, maybe a download link to the game.
- music. Just because I think that too many gaming vids have that kind of lame music (for my taste :p) in the background :p.
Overall I think its a good vid

Maybe create a feature vote so jits would set some kind of official youtube channel for dp? so could group all the dp videos (decent ones) into 1 place.

Good intro and music, very very nice camera work and a lot of action. Only the graphic-quality from the ingame scenes could be better.

I'm no fan of boring youtube video's where several players are showing of their 'skills', but I can only admit that video is awesome.

Thanks a lot for the feedback blaa. I agree with you 100% most of the clips were just fillers for the video that I got off of from like only 3 maps.  My next video will have improved footage and better shots..

If you could fill me in on the command cl_fps/pps 0, I would be very grateful because I have no idea what that does.

cl_fps 0, cl_pps 0 disables fps and pps under your streak

Removes the display on the right that tells you what your fps and pps are at, generally wanna remove those for recording. Also agree with Blaa on the intro length. Unless the intro is footage from a game or some sick ass 3d intro it tends to get boring.

And even then the intros aren't that long, that's mainly what I see with dp2 montages. The editing is all done on the intro and they spend no time editing the actual clips. Sure some people get some good camera work in there with the angles and whatnot, but it's all reacreated from the original and nothing is edited except the intro. Just would like to see more editing on the clips rather than the intros worked on so hard, maybe even some sync with sound and music would be cool to see.

Just my thoughts and opinions on your video and other dp2 videos in general.

What I think would be really cool is if we could get a team project going with like 3 or 4 editors that are each better in one aspect. For example get someone good with intros, one good with editing the actual clips, one good with camera work, and one good with audio/sync work and make an amazing video. If someone wants to actually do that send me a PM and maybe we could get some editors together to get that going for a community montage.

Some stuff I've done myself, people tell me the myers ace is my best edited one. Haven't edited dp2 in so long but that sin city effect works amazing for this game.
