The committee is not meant to help or hurt the game. It's meant to find out information on multiple accounts, things to save jitspoe time on. The odd time they look at demo's, that is it.

Servers - Not even slightly a problem, there's more servers then players to fill.

I do agree that its old and out of date, but it can be made look a lot nicer. Example - Bono's mod, change the menus in dp. Make it look more appealing right away. Make a really nice set of textures - have them on download. [better yet make a standard hr4 pack]  - The current textures are terrible on download, it makes the game look terrible.

Gameplay wise - Like other games, add in a mini guides or tutorials to let them understand the basics.

Simplicity - This is accounts for menu's too, but make it so they can change more without console commands... [ex fov] -- Also make it possible to make your account in game?

There has been many threads about this kinda thing, with multiple good ideas in them, although every build the constant change is sounds... which is more annoying then anything. I was thinking about the interpolated hit boxes, and how everyone wants them... wouldn't that make dp a lot less fun :S It's 1 hit kill, if you can never run through lines, people would play too careful. I'm 50/50 on that. But anyways, the only noticeable change I've been able to notice in builds besides sounds is the 'kill-cam' thing.

I understand everything you're saying. If jitspoe would have a standard, good, texture pack that is installled with the game and have bonos mod installed with the game. Then they will matter. New comers have no way in finding out how much better the game can look until they visit forums or link up with people who has played for a while. After a download they get that dull feel and sloppy default textures. If thats the first thing I see when I enter the game then I wouldn't continue playing.

A standard hr4 pack is good, but please don't add another thing (like menu or console mods) to the game. That should be optional for each user.

You don't think a menu [not saying bono's] but a more appealing menu would help? Make the game look attractive. Simplicity and looks are helpful. Just a more... up to date start menu, with the hr4 already enabled would be really nice.

No, i don't think a new menu would help very much. Thats nothing against bono or zorchenhimer or whoever made a menu / menu pack. I like the one we have. Its easy, clear and not overloaded (in my opinion).

New textures, new sounds, a new map format,... that are the things to make the game more attractive. The new sounds part is almost done, i think. We have new weapon, footstep, grenade, splash and surface-specific splat sounds.
I hope bugfixes and new textures / a standard (maybe community voted) hr4 pack is on top of jitspoes todo list.

Younger players that aren't into the DP community or that aren't introduced to the forums won't be able to find out about these hr4 packs or menus or anything else. Upgrade hr4 pack and, I'm not saying to do the same with the menus, but it could be more appealling

It seems to me that all these rules and regulations make it hard for someone especially new-comers to enjoy the game. People are attracted to and easy going online game as i was my freshman year of high-school. Before there was global login and all that. Now im not saying global login is bad but i am saying that public servers that kick you if your not logged in is just ridiculous. most newbies will not know to register a name let alone set up their log-in. another thing; this demo-request trend that started is so annoying. if you do good, demo-request! u cant just be good at this game anymore u have to be hacking and the committee is suggesting ban over not handing over demo? screw that i deleted every single one of my demos i honestly dont care for em. Pub admin abusers kicking and banning for no reason kills pubs! superman ran a great pub but thats gone. luckily Carbon Gaming pubs are doing well so far. clans are dying due to bans and we dont even know what we getting banned for? how can we trust a comittee who cant even talk to us or a cheat detection but wont tell us wat it has detected. 3 years ago dplogin had the highest amount of users online a day which was 260 now u hardly will ever see 50. need more clans to match more. best match servers were GT and er33t but now both are gone sadly. anyway this game just seems to be going down hill faster and faster. more bans more rules less attraction more people quiting cause they cant trust the game and for what? a free online game. honestly dp2 staff, your not getting paid so do yourself and us a favor and stop breaking your backs on a FREE game. try playing it more its fun

People have been saying this game is dying since I started playing. It is a little but I prefer to play a game that is fun rather then play a game with a bunch of people using modified stuff to be "better" than everyone. Microsoft will ban your console if you get caught modifing stuff. Go ahead do that and throw away a couple of hundred dollars but since Jitspoe's game is free it is ok to hack? Nah. I expect the same from him as I do other game host. Keep it clean. You go on to talk about all what is needed to keep the game alive but what exactly have you done to help? Anything? Have you created a new clan? Do you take a proactive stand by entering games and trying to get new players to get a mic and jump on irc? Do you take time to try to help these people get everything online? Whe's the last time you were in a game and just ask everyone if they now how to change their name? Do you spam a link to the forums in any channel? Do you try to welcome players openly? When's the last time you helped anyone get on irc or vent, teamspeak? I know there are a few people who play now that can say that some of us have done this and it is a proven fact. People used to give InT such a hard time for being "noobs" or just sticking to the values that were thrown down by the great M7 but we ignored it and did what we did for the benefit of the game and other new players. It worked then but people laughed and joked. It'll work now especially when so many of the idiots are slowly disappearing. If you like the game and play it then you should give back some by fighting to keep it alive. Most of the members on the committee have been elected because of their respect for this game and its creator. Most of those members work fairly hard at helping others in this game and some even outside this game. I would take everyone on the committee at face value on the outside world because they have shown their worth to me by stepping up to this community with their words and actions. I would suggest that you take some time out from the forums and put the effort and dedication you have shown in your posting lately into the community that needs you in the game.

Honestly, i have tryed helping newbies a lot, i joined a clan before joinging Ij and made an irc channel for them and tryed to keep them active, i havent tryed going into a pub and asking newbies if they know how to change their name but thats actually a rele good idea ill definitely try it and you may not believe me but i do openly invite players to play and i dont talk down to players or "trash-talk" i know ive had some differences with s2k and probably trash talked to them a couple of times but thats about it, i would hope that s2k does remember the days i was in the clan and remembers i wasnt one to trash talk to others. but this is one reason i made this post "not just to complain like people think" sure i let out some complaints but i had to let it out and now that i have im not complaining anymore nor posting like crazy on forums. you guys may hate me but honestly i do like this game and want it to grow and lately i have been trying to get it to grow, maybe not on forums but definitely in game and on irc, so if u have any more suggestions i will take them as constructive criticism and try hard to apply it in game thanks

There has been talk of a strafing tutorial or at least a demo for some time. Could someone put something together, and Jits could host it on a page like dplogin.com/strafe  ?

Then we could just link folks to it every time we see someone who needs it. Or the game could just link to it too at some point.

Strafing is a big thing for a new player to learn if they are going to stay.

UT99 is taking over our IRC =[  I convinced a few of them to download dp, but they stop playing instantly, for the most simple fix ever. Put a hr4 pack on download, the original textures are just so terrible, it takes people a long time before they find out about hr4 unless somebody tells them. Nobody will leave another game to come to these textures. These don't have to be enforced 'yet' they just need to be up. Once Jitspoe finishes his pack then he shoul enforce that to the community. But anyways - We really just need an hr4 enabled when you download paintball. This is something worth pushing, it's an easy fix. I assume the reason this wont/will take a long time to happen is because he doesn't know where the textures all have been found, but I'm 'pretty sure' he trusts the OTB pack, so enforce them on download. kaithanksbye.

PS-  Blaa the game tutorial was me and skyline :))) when he was in vF with me we made that.

I would prefer at least some hr4 pack be included in the game download also, and for hr4 to be enabled in the game by default.

Why do you need so many accounts when you can have multiple names which you can change at whim?  The actual purpose is to keep people accountable for their actions. If people could show they have real values, ethics, and just some common courtesy to others then I doubt multiple accounts would matter but instead we have a bunch of individuals who don't want to pay to play games, then feel the need to hack so they can gather false respect which then inflates their egos and turns them into a bunch of idiots who eventually turn on one another when they get caught to shorten their ban time from a game they profess they hate and it is dying.

That is why.
