If you change the blending mode of the color particles layer, you can cut out the black when it flies in front of other layers.   It's fun, just don't use it for anything shorter than 2 or 3 minutes, or else it will be too long of a intro ;)

Well, if it would be your own intro, maybe... But you just took some after effects template and changed the text...

Well this seems to be one he did himself, the layers aren't set up correctly so the effects don't overlay.  (doesn't mean he just used some pre-made particle effects from a video on it tho) :P
