Server issue:fire rate
« on: November 26, 2010, 02:24:38 PM »
Well  i had the issue with guns. Its fire rate is changing dynamically. During match cocker may shoot like VM and in the end of match it is shooting faster than automag :X
I have demonstrated it in this demo
http://www.banterous.co.uk/index.php?page=demo&id=681
The fire rate changes whole the demo so if you watch the full demo you will see
Can anyone help me solve this problem pls? It is bad because we have our own server and must use("block") the otb/icey/tarts server for matches.
PS:Sry idk the times when it changes but it is not so long

It is possible to change the setting g_autofire to 0, so that you will shot only one ball if you click once with your mouse. If you made that and you click in different speeds, you could have something like that.

I didnt change anything. Anyway i was holding my mouse button not just pressing it again and again. I am not trying to fake that. I have the issue with server but idk what is the reason of that. After sometime it stops shooting at all and you have to change the map to be able to shoot again. I was thinking about some reasons:1)The ping of server. But i think this is not possible because the fire rate is changing dynamically. 2) Problem in the config. I dont think this is possible to because of dynamic changing again. I guess there are not so many things you can add to config so they will change randomly.
Also i tried to restart server several times but it helped just for a while and than it begun changing again.
If anyone knows at least a clue to solving this problem please let me know. I would be really happy if i could play there normal matches there.

We were playing castle1 on 93.185.103.38:9972 yesterday and all of sudden I noticed my gun would be shooting with higher ROF. I mentioned it and few rounds later others noticed it happened to them too. I told flyover, who was logged in, to change it back, but he claimed not to have played with any settings. I was told spartax had access to server, but he claims not to have changed anything too. I find it pretty strange for any setting to change dynamically, especially rate of fire - it's very unlikely that it just started to happen for no reason.

Post your server config, or better yet, change it back to default match server config. That's the only thing I have on mind right now.

You have:
set grenadeffire 1
and just a few lines later:
set grenadeffire 0
so remove first setting

Also: set gren_explodeonimpact 0 (impact nades are lame).

And remove: set ball_speed "2790", this is value from 3+ years ago, might not be working well with other settings. Hence your "bug", most probably.

Run server on default file server.cfg, if this doesn't help, try to run it from your computer (might be CPU or ram issues on server PC? kind of clueless here).
