I don't think it is.  This one uses a funname character for the "S".

Well there is a newer player named Sly, but I never suspected him of hacking (if it is him)

Should just ban the entire ISP after you contact them if this happens continually and leave some sort of message like:

Sorry, the ip address you are connecting from has been globally banned to prevent cheating.  Unfortunately, our efforts to stop this sometimes mean that other players using the same ISP will be caught up in the ban of a cheater.  If you do not think this is right - please contact your ISP and tell them you are dissatisfied with the service they are (not) providing you by harbouring cheaters.

Qoo, ISP bans just won't be effective. What if several people started hacking with AOL? What if a popular ISP started getting lots of hackers on it, too? I don't see ISP bans anytime soon.

Cheating in a game is hardly "hacking", unless for it you're cool enough to write up the hack yourself, and even then its not really that great of a hack, as nothing too great is gained from it.
As for banning the AOL ISP, on many Quake 3 based games when you try to connect to servers using 56k, you get a message "server is for low pings only", so I think they suffer enough with their inability to play a lot of games on good servers...on the other hand blocking them out would take care of a lot of the annoying people...

What if several people started hacking with AOL?
Then you'd ban the range of ips belonging to aol perhaps?

Did you even read my post, Qoo? That's not the point at all! Because AOL routes their users through several gateways, it's basically like trying to ban a proxy, lots of legit players can't play, and only a handful of cheaters are punished.

Did you read my post is the question!

AOL has ranges that they use and you just ban them, and read my first post about the innocent people getting banned and them putting pressure on the ISP for us.

I'm not saying it would work in practice, just that zero tolerance would be cool.

What are you talking about? BellSouth is an ISP that is infamous for getting banned by websites and games, why? Because BellSouth does not care about Abuse Reports, which results in getting the whole isp banned.
