6 weeks of matches
Matches are to be played on Sundays at any time. Special arrangements can be made for your weeks match to be played on another day.

I will pick an official tie breaker map for each week.
Matches will take place on an approved map list (will have this up shortly)

I will start a new forum thread for each week of play and screen shots of final scores must be posted in the thread.

After 6 weeks the season will end with a tournament, the top 8 teams will be entered.

Matches will start April 14th!

Yeah, I'd like to understand this scoring system. 25 points for showing up? Lol. Is that so people don't feel bad having 0 points if they get stomped? This seems super random. Teams that win 2-0 have different scores? Not questioning it, just curious where these points come from. Should make an official thread explaining scoring.

The fact that this is even an issue pisses me off but I guess it is what it is. The idea of the DPL is to get teams to play. Not to sign up then forfeit maps. When you forfeit a match you cheat the opposing team out of a chance for max points. In the situation of this map I'm going to award Sofa another 5 bonus points for a MAX win on their map pick.

In the future if you forfeit a map you will take a 5 point penalty in your overall score.

The scoring system was announced the day the league was announced. Skitzo has also posted it in this thread. As stated in the very first line I'm sure it's not the best format but it is a format and someone has to make the decisions so............................. We'll do it my way. Yes teams that show up will get points. If a team misses a match one week they will get 0 points. Showing up needs to be "rewarded"

You could read this but not scroll down 2 posts to read the the actual format? If a team was too lazy to read the format or ask about the format prior to playing they deserve the points they missed out on / gave to the other team.

it was not your post that was quoted.

However to explain your "question" the idea is to reward teams for actually showing up and playing as opposed to the teams who don't show at all for a weeks match. I do believe a team showing up for a match in a league benefits the league so I gave them 25 base points. This may or may not be too many but we will review that at the end of season 1. I think they should get more than the 0 a no show team will get.

Without the bonus points you're going to end up with half the league tied at the end of the season, they worked just as I planned and were not implemented without thought. However the knee jerk reactions are 100% made without thought. Picking now to make an issue of it instead of 13 days ago is pointless.

and I'm throwing the word controversial aroundl pretty loosely. I do not feel sorry for anyone who didn't understand the scoring system. We had 13 days to make tweaks and no one brought up 1 issue until afterwards.

and for anyone who thinks clans that lose should get 0 base points feel free to add them in your head as winning a match gets 15 and losing gets 0. We will come out with the same winners in the end and it will make you sleep easy. They're just figures.
