What are your PC specs?
« on: June 20, 2013, 02:37:06 PM »
Post the specs of your PC here.

These are my specs.

OS: Windows 7 Professional (64-bit)

Ram: 8GB DDR3

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K (3.30GHz and 4 cores).

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560

Monitor: 1680 x 1050 Max Resolution (LCD monitor).

Case: I think it's an Antec 300 case but I'm not sure.

When I set Paintball 2 to max settings I get a nice, smooth, consistent 1,000 FPS so I have to turn on VSync.

I'm not 100% sure on how to adjust Paintball 2's settings to get the best graphics though.

Windows 7 (64-Bit)
Amd FX 4350 - 4.2Ghz (quad core)
Amd Radeon 7970
8GB DDR3 Ram
Master Cooler case (don't know which model)

After I built my pc I didn't had enough money for a good monitor, keyboard, mouse
So I had to use my old ones, it's a 4:3 ratio monitor I think. I have my frame rate capped at 77 so I don't know my actual frame rate, except on certain maps.

You guys clearly all have too much money to spend on your rigs :P

I have an ASRock Extreme3 FX990 board, CPU is a cheap-ass FX4100 @ 4.8GHz (stock is 3.6GHz, lol) under an Arctic Freezer 7 pro rev 2. For graphics I've got an XFX HD6850 @ 850/1050. 8GB of standard kingston and a Hitachi 1TB HDD. All of this is in a budget brand case with a 220mm fan on the side.

Amd FX 4350 - 4.2Ghz (quad core)
Amd Radeon 7970
You might want to look into getting a cheap aftermarket cooler and OCing your CPU a bit, otherwise it seems like you'll be wasting your graphics card. The FX series design is not great for games because each pair of cores shares an FPU, which tends to get used a lot in gaming, so unless you have a FX-6xxx or FX-8xxx series, you're basically running on 2 cores in games :/
I learned this about an hour after all my components had been dispatched :P Otherwise I'd be running a 8150 :(

Well it depends on the game, but for anything modern and relatively CPU-heavy, like battlefield 3 etc, you'll probably get a lot more out of buying a better processor than getting a graphics card. If you have the money, an FX8x50 will do the trick nicely.

Am I the only one using notebook?

asus notebook:
Intel core i5 2430m
geforce gt 520mx, hd graphics 3000
8 gb ddr3
unknown mobo
300 gb HD
15,4 screen, standard for notebooks
Win 8 64bit
some cobblestone

Although this geforce is a crap, it runs pb smoothly (300-400 fps I believe). But it's definitely NOT a gaming machine. Like any notebook. It gets 95-99 degress while playing games :O.
I need to carry my pc in few places  sometimes, so I can't sell this crap. Other money I spent on a guitar :D

Built for Crysis, about 4-5 years ago now.

But nahh, I toned it down since I don't do any hardcore gaming anymore. Just one 560TI card, 8GB of ram on a Q9450 quadcore.

My new lappy,
Asus R510J <3

i7 4710HQ up to 3.5GHz, 4 cores 8 threads, 6MB cache
GEFORCE GTX 850M, Intel HD Graphics 4600
8GB of RAM
750GB HDD
15,6 1080p screen
Currently 64bit win 8.1 64bit, in dual-boot with some GNU/Linux system soon.

WARFACE (a CryEngine 3 based game) works smoothly on ultra settings so it's enough for me =D

NO MORE INTEL ATOM =D!

Motherboard: MSI Z87-GD65
CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K @ 4.2Ghz OC
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770
PSU: EVGA 850W 80+ Gold
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series (4x 4GB)
Storage: Samsung SSD 840 Series (2x 250GB)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Black 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM (4x)
Case: NZXT H2 H2-001-WT White Steel / Plastic Classic Silent ATX Mid Tower
Monitors: Asus VS238H-P (3x)
Keyboard: Microsoft Sidewinder x4
Mouse: Razer Deathadder Chroma

Got most of it a few years ago, added / removed a few things up til now. I wouldn't mind upgrading a few things, but nothing has required it so far. Only thing that has bogged it down a little is the higher settings on Project Cars. If you haven't played it, I really recommend it :)
