Ill have a think about what awards I could give away like this, good idea.

This'll make mappers focus on 1 spec to make it best in ther map...

I was saying we started off as crappy mappers too. Trying to give new mappers inspiration to keep trying and working hard and the results will come one day. Just don't expect it over night. Your first 5-10 maps will probably suck but you will figure it out soon. Every mapper thinks their map is good. I've made 30 maps... 10 get played in pubs still or matches. 1:3 is a good ratio. It's just highly difficult to get a well constructed map the community enjoys.

I was talking about you using "didnt" instead of "did" in your sentence, which would suggest DT's map were always perfect. Obviously it was unintentional, but still, come on :p. I thought i made it obvious enough.

Anyway, i wont be participating, because there is too much work for university to be done. Also i think that it will be interesting to see the results of this.

So you meant to say that you started off making bad maps but DT, when he started mapping, made good maps? I think, like Proza said, you've made a mistake in your post (using didn't instead of did).

I think the number of contestants is relatively big, I've had 4 say to me personally they will enter, but like ace says they will take time.

Oh, and about the topic. Mapping competitions rule. The last DM competition brought a excrement load of great DM maps to rotation so I would expect nothing less from this one. Except... seems that the organizers don't know themselves what they are expecting from this?

All the maps will go into a public rotation for a 5 day period. If the server gets popular enough, the best maps from the contest will stay/ the winner gets a 24/7 server for their map for a period of time.
