March Madness. In late March every year in the USA, all the College Basketball teams play in either the NCAA Tournament, which is for the better teams that year, or the NIT Tournament, which is for the teams that didn't make the NCAA one. And I play basketball and like to watch it, especially college, so I thought I would share it. And the Men's is more exciting and popular to watch.
They have the first 68 or so ranked teams enter and 8 certain teams play each other in four games to advance and play the Second Round, which is really the first round that all the teams play in. There are 64 teams who battle out to get into the Third Round, which would leave the remaining 32 winners of that. The same thing that took place in the Second Round happens in the Third Round, leaving the 16 teams left in a thing called the Sweet Sixteen. The 8 winners of the Sweet Sixteen advance to play in the Elite Eight and then to the Final Four, and finally to the championship game.
Funny thing, you're allowed to make brackets as a prediction to who will win, and if your bracket was perfect and all the things on it happened in the tournament, you win a big prize. Like a million dollar type of prize. Well, because of this year's exciting upsets - lower seeded teams beating the higher seeded ones - NO ONE WON OUT OF THE 11 MILLION PEOPLE WHO PARTICIPATED.
They are still letting you make brackets, but you don't get as big of a prize.
CURRENT BRACKETS: (Click the Sweet Sixteen Tab if it doesn't take you there already)
https://www.google.com/search?q=current%20NCAA%20bracket%202014&404handler=trueNow, the poll. That is to vote on which team out of the 16 that are currently left you think will win THE WHOLE TOURNAMENT. And be careful, this year many lower seeded teams have created big upsets in many games. You have 3 days (up to 3/27) to vote on the poll. If you feel like you have to post why you think the team you pick will win, then go ahead and post in this thread. And this is just for the NCAA Men's College Basketball one.
You can post what your bracket will be until the poll ends. And you're only allowed to pick the teams of the current ones standing. Good luck
Because this is #MarchMadness.
