DP Cd's for Dial up users
« on: July 18, 2006, 10:59:46 AM »
I was trying to get my cousin to play dp, but he cant because he is on dialup and the maps take way to long to dl all of them. Since I have almost all maps I decided to burn him a cd. I burnt him a cd with dp on it, and now he can play dp right from the cd. So I figured since it worked so well and he was so happy, I would do it for others.

If you want a cd cause your on dial up just paypal me $1 or however much shipping will be and include your adddress and i'll send it to you. Im not making profit off of this cause that would violate the license, so please only send however much shipping will cost.

or you could of read the post lekky...

Its for 56k users who dont want to have to dl 400mb worth of maps on dialup...

Oh yeah, and if you have a cdburner + cds, burn your dp to a cd then take it to your school, you can run the game right off the CD without having to install it or anything.

Unless, of course, you need to download a map or some other files.  It also won't save changes to your config.

You can load all the files into the temporary internet files folder on probably most school computers that run stuff like fortress101 and all that junk.
And as for 56k, honestly wtf? C'mon, yeah its quake2, but its also 2006, tell your parents that you're getting owned by the lag. If you're stuck with 56k and a cheap mofo then yeah, you do need to go to a friend's house to burn a CD, just be glad you aren't a quake 3 or quake 4 addict too.
Also, if your neighbors have WiFi, make yourself a cantenna.
