Invalid Serverlist?
« on: September 16, 2006, 10:38:17 AM »
When running the game on another computer it gives me an Invalid Serverlist error, though it works fine on my other computer.  Is there a way to fix this?

This computer is on build16 windows and my other computer is using build 17 Linux.  I will try the code you gave and reply in a sec.

Try typing in the console... "serverlist_source" and see what you get.

The Linux b17 (QuDos's) is still b16, and still reports that its b16, it was probably labeled b17 so that people would choose it over the old b16 binaries that had audio issues.

Maybe it had trouble connecting to dpball.com at the time and only grabbed the first half of the list? I'd repeat this to see if it keeps happening. Here's the serverlist_sources from the Linux b17:
Code: [Select]
]/serverlist_source
"serverlist_source" is "http://digitalpaint.planetquake.gamespy.com/servers.txt"
]/serverlist_source2
"serverlist_source2" is "http://digitalpaint.planetquake.gamespy.com/serverlist.php"
]/serverlist_source3
"serverlist_source3" is "http://dpball.com/serverlist.php"

The QuDos build is like 16 1/2.  Build 17 isn't finished yet, but it has newer code than build 16.

My first guess to the problem is that GameSpy is putting up some kind of ad in place of the server list.  It could also be that one of your serverlist_source variables got set to something else.
