Best of Paintball 2 Map Pack

Okay, need nominations for the Best of DP map pack. We should have a good balance of oldschool and newschool maps. Since I only really know the former, I'm going to start by suggesting:

I'd say nay to battle - its REALLY outdated now, and really never was that good to begin with.  Battle2 would be good though.

Midnight, Hellsurv, pforest, sphouse_qw are definites

Depends on what you mean by best.  If you allow simple small maps that arent good for matching at all, but that still can be fun to play on a public server, then pbcup, sandtrap should be included too.

Some other maps that people havent mentioned that i will toss up:
Thunder, Brainstorm - for the larger sized maps.
warzone2 - very fun map
castle1 - a fav
just about any map shreds made
lostpath, hunt, cfire, ksplat2 - these used to be pretty popular but no one plays them anymore?
how about some of those seige or 4 team maps?  I always enjoyed those.

I've never been that big of a fan of sandtrap... The one-door base to docks2 kills it, too.  The center area is fun, but about the only way someone gets through the door is when someone screws up, and that's frustrating.

right, bottlenecking maps destroy any type of real teamplay involved, aside from lets all rush and hope one guy gets through.  These maps include strap and pbcup, to which i say no thanks.

Well no, lets get it right.  Bottlenecks are good in maps, if they are done correctly.  Havine one bottleneck in the middle of the map kills gameplay.  But having no bottlenecks at all and just one big wide opens space kills gameplay just as well.

Having too much open space and no bottlenecks creates "spray and pray".   Basically everyone just rushes and spray-n-pray. Adding a few bottlenecks slows the gameplay down and adds strategy and balance.

Having too many bottlenecks (or worse just one with no open area) creates "sit-n-stream" where players just sit on each side of the bottleneck and stream paint at an angle through or across the bottleneck till the run out of ammo, effectively killing gameplay cuz no one can get through.  You want multiple paths and some more open space to balance this out.

So as you should have figured out by now, the best maps are ones that have equal amounts of multiple paths  (but not too many to the point where it becomes too complex), some bottlenecks, and some open spaces - all evenly balanced out to perfection.

Meat, there is no teamplay on pub servers! And this map pack would be made for pubs not matches.. bottlenecks are fun to me.

Since paintball2 ships with a set of maps you should have instructed everyone to not include those maps in thier opinions.

I can't even think of any other maps that i truely loved to play as much as some of the original DP maps.

Anything that's interesting and different.
