Build 10?
« on: April 28, 2004, 03:21:40 PM »
Should I or shouldn't I have build 10? I got kicked out of a server by... a certain person, after being called mass names  >:(, because I had build 10. Is there something wrong with it? Should I go back to 9?

Him and others were saying that everytime they tried to see the score, they would get kicked out of the server because of me having 10.

It doesn't have anything to do with build 10, but if you make your name too long, it can screw things up.  Note that two characters are used for each color, even though they don't show up.

I thought I had it fixed, though.  Could you email me your config (jitspoeATplanetquakeDOTcom) so I can do further testing?

Also, I got your email about the changing maps and stuff on a LAN server, but you didn't put a return address so I couldn't reply.  You have to set the op password either in the server config or manually set it at the server.  Example:
set oppass1 "whatever"
set oppass1level 150

Then from your client type "login whatever" and it will make you a level 150 op, so you can do things like change maps (newmap mapname), change settings (cvar_set ffire 1), etc.  If you have direct access to the sever, though, you can just type things in there (gamemap midnight, set ffire 1, etc).

thanks. I'm still learning how to make games and using 3D studios Max. Right now I am learning how to make flash games.
I have another problem with the bsp map maker. It say it cant find certain files and I have to locate them for the program. After I do that, it gives me am error.

BSP ERROR...
Number of Windows Setups Must Be 4(for now)

I have no idea why it does that.
