I think we put that into "new map format"

New map format should be the next big thing, after the global login is fixed.

But nooo, everyone wants new gun models and high-res textures. Jerks.

What's wrong with the global login?

webhead: I don't remember what the original request for "new sounds" was.  My vote was simply to replace existing sounds with near-equivalent high-quality sounds.  The other vote may have been to replace death sounds with something more serious.  Meh, whatever.  Just lump them together.  Maybe just "New, higher-quality sounds".

I believe he is referencing "Password reset option for global logins" from the list:

22: Password reset option for global logins
21: Vwep
21: More high-res textures
20: New gun models
18: New map format

Heh, I'm not even sure what I meant anymore. I would assume I was talking about little functions that are missing such as name removal and password reset. Maybe stats, but I think that new map format should come before stats. ;)

Eiii, when you say new map format, do you mean like Q3 map format with shaders and lighting? What exactly do you mean.

I mean a new map format that will allow for more detail to be put into the space with less effort. It kind of seems like a stretch for jits to do all by himself, but I have faith that at the very least we'll see patch support and higher-res lightmaps.

Configurable voting system for server settings

Can someone explain what is meant by this?

I'm assuming it would let the server admin choose what could be voted on.  Things like "kick player X" or "randomly shuffle teams" or something similar.

Its the vote I made right?
What I meant by that is that there would be a system where custom votes could be created through the server config.
So adding something like
Code: [Select]
customvote kick "kick $$1"where 'kick' is the name of the vote, "kick $$1" is the command that would be executed, and $$1 would mean that the vote would require an argument to be passed on the vote (in this case the player).

So then a player in game could type something in console like "startvote kick player1" and other players would type "voteyes" or "voteno" in console.

More options could be added in the vote, like message to display when the vote starts, what to do when the vote fails, the positive-to-negative ratio needed to pass the vote, etc.

Ahhh, I see. Personally i'd like to see the voting system overhauled, with more custom votes enabled such as choosing 3 random maps to vote from, so we expose people to a wide variety of maps, without having a map which comes on and empties the server.

Maybe one vote could choose 3 CTF maps, the next vote would choose 3 DM maps, then one of each etc. I guess i'm really trying to overcome the overplaying of particular maps without having to implement a strict maplist where the players have no freedom over what is chosen.

Or solid models.
Vote for it!

actually, i believe this is something different from what Zorch described.
i think it describes a way for players to vote on settings one might see upon clicking "Start New Game", such as time/score limits, friendly fire, etc.

However, i would like to revise this feature request I made:
Quote
2: Allow maps to be voted down if one starts that people don't want. i.e. it would then end that map and take votes again, like normal when maps are over (votenextmap?) - webhead, KoreMagna

to this:
- Warsow-like voting system, or maybe even one that's better

... and that covers not only voting for maps, but anything else that could be voted on.
Here's an idea for how to implement it: have a menu item in the in-game [Esc] menu called Start Vote, which will then show a (scrollable?) list of all the things that can be voted on. So then the user would pick an item, and enter the value for that option in a text field or something. Then they click Submit, and everybody else can vote on it. (And for voting to kill a certain player, the text field could be replaced by a selection list of all the players on the server, i suppose.)
