Kicked/Banned From My Own Server
« on: April 03, 2007, 12:20:55 PM »
Me along with a couple other guys from ]pS[ were constantly getting kicked from the ]pS[ Clan Server. When we were kicked it said that we were global banned but we could reconnect right then. The reason for the global ban was that it was being tested.

At first I thought it might just be where we were playing because we were at school but then I came home and I had the same problem.

Jits I was just wondering if you were testing the global bans and if you are how can I fix this problem.

Edit: I also thought this problem might have something to do with being registered on the global login. So I set sv_login to 0 and changed my name to something that is not registered and the same problem still occurred.

I looked at the console and it seems like the server is using the kck all command but with a "fake" global ban instead.

You got b.17?

Because your server is the only one I know that allows b.17 only.

KiLo: Yes, I was testing the global ban system.  I didn't realize anybody had build 17 servers up.  I've stopped testing now, so you should be ok.

That's kinda what I figured.

I always forget to set sv_login to 0 when I restart. I probably should write that into the server config.

It's not an 'official' build yet, you shouldn't really use it. :|

I use mine....  How else will it be tested so that jitspoe receives feedback for tweaks?

Since I have has build 17 I haven't had any problems running a server. And since build 17 the server doesn't crash when I load shaz33.

Pretty sure he just means servers shouldn't be running it yet since it's so unstable/being tested, not that people shouldn't be using it.

Oh... I wasn't aware that Build 17 pretest was strictly clientside.  My bad.  ;)
