Ok. I've been hearing from some people that the themes of my menus are not to their liking. So, what I've decided to do for the next version of my maps menu (V9) is have you choose which one looks better.

Color:

Monochrome:

Boring:

Could you do.. the boring layout with colors? None of the distracting symbols...

Either remake all the menus with colour or leave them boring. At the moment the colours always grab your attention.

That's what I was planning on doing, but I have to get a solid 'theme' first.

y00tz, that looks good. I thought of doing something like that, but I'd never get around to actually finishing it. At least not before the end of the school year. And if you need any help with that menu pack, just let me know.

Don't have as many symbols in the monochrome. If you left them at just [] then that would be cool.

Zorch, I'm a *computer science* major, do you think I'm expected to finish things? Of course not it's the only career in the world where deadlines are a joke. Second, I'm a student as well, trust me when I say there's a 5% chance that menu pack will ever be finished, but thanks a lot for the offer of help, I'll probably hit you up on that.

If you however, ever wish for a some GUI images, I'd be glad to hook you up.

Btw, off-topic: Do you *ever* play in game? I rarely do (too busy making textures etc. for this game and others I've developed) but often check on servers and never see anyone I recognize..

Colors are bad because then the color highlights don't work.

I am very rarely on any servers. Why? I can't get to them. I'm behind a proxied LAN, and severe filter. However! In 17 days I go home for the summer! I can't wait.

if you do want to use colours, then only colour the menu name, that should help alot.

Idk, I like his orange, it works fine and is offset well from the background. The font is probably the problem... We need to produce a better font for use with our custom menus and such...

The font is gonna be hard, unless Jits implements using regular fonts (.ttf, .fon, etc.) in menus. But I doubt that will happen anytime soon.

Hey Zorchenhimer I say you make them all a really bright colour like yellow or neon colours maybe alternate the colours to dont just use all orange.

Will there be anyway we could change the color in like a menu setup thing? That way anybody could choose blue, green, or boring white.

We don't want the menus to be a rainbow. Just make them one color to make it easy but not that orange in my opinion.

When I'm done with what I'm currently working on, yes. Meanwhile I am gonna release my menus without a 'theme', and hopefully short after that I will release themes. Hopefully.

I´d go with boring. It doesn´t distracts as much as the others. Keep it simple and effective.

truly who cares, if you are going to do anything make the actual playing better, not the menu, it isn't a fasion show
