arggh map glitch.... help pls
« on: July 10, 2007, 07:50:18 PM »
i have been trying to learn to map.  after about making 10 or so practice maps i have finally made a map that is becoming descent. i go to run it and and as soon as the round starts it says i have a msg overflow and then the server, being glitches up and i can no longer play. i have waited for 5 minutes and it was apparent that it was not going to stop.  i tried running it over and over again, same "msg message overflow error for cusoman" ???
pls help me, i would like to make maps but at this rate i wont ever being releasing any..... :-\

How many nades do you have per team? And do you have any bots in?

i have 3 bots and myself for a 2v2 CTF map test.
i have no grenades whatsoever, actually i have no weapons, because i just spawned everyone with weaps.  i was going to add nades and stuff after i got this problem worked out.

well i have no water in my map, so it didnt do anything, thaks for trying everyone. based on the message being in arenaball too, i have concluded that i can not host servers, or cannot now, because the error was recent. oh well... sigh

That means you  have too many entities, generally. Remove all the bots/grenades.

SZ_GetSpace seems to mean that your config is too big. Make sure you config is under 8kb, and add 'unbind all' to the top of it. Or, again, it might be too many entities. Make sure your grenade and smoke grenade count are set to zero.

hmm, all of my configs are under 8kb, and i added 'unbind all' without quotes to all of them, and i update my drivers alot and i know for sure i have the most updated opengl drivers for my graphics card. if i cant host servers then how will i test my own gamess.......
again all help is appreciated, and thankyou for trying to help thus far

Cusoman:  When I click on the images to see the larger versions, they time out and do not load.  Could  you try attaching them so that I can see the exact error message read?

SZ_GetSpace: Overflowed
Warning: msg Overflowed for cusoman
SZ_GetSpace: Overflowed
Warning: msg Overflowed for cusoman
over and over and over.... i cant move at all and the whole paintball 2 shuts down
this only happens on some levels tho, others i can play fine against bots and such and they work ???

I think SZ_GetSpace: Overflowed means that you are sending commands that are too big, or you are sending too many commands at once.
You may want to reset to default client configuration as well.

He was running a local server, so the client config was all that was being used.

It sounds like you had either the number of paint grenades or smoke grenades set too high.  The maps you could play were probably larger/had more walls so they weren't all visible at once.
