I think 7zip can open rars
and thats free
I use it on my computer in case I need it for some archive reason
edit: I checked and it can
all that is needed is to rename a zip file to .rar in 7zip and your set

ok, smack, i am going to have to give you the go ahead on making your portion or the map. i have also added a rule, no more then 2 days on the map or you get bumped. When corporal comes back maybe he can pick up where u left off, but for now you are doing beta 2. Is this cool with you smack?

Well, here is my release of b2. It definitely needs more paths/cluttering/detail, but it's more of a start. Some screenies and the map file as well as the bsp file.

You can't see the original map here, but obviously, it's the jail.

well, i would finish the map your currently working on before jumping into this one, since your a new mapper. 2 maps at once is quit a load. When your done with "nameless" then you can jump right in, just post before u start.

I believe it's crisscross now.
I work on like 4-5 maps at once :/
