Question about public/private servers

Some servers have clan tags on them, and some don't... How do I know if a certain server's not open for the public?

If you can join it, it's public. Even if the server has a tag, that just means it's sponsored by that team. Feel free to play anywhere you can join.

Oh, so certain servers will only be open to certain people? Thanks for the answer.

Certain servers will have passwords on them, meaning they only want people who know the password in. Most anything with 'Match' in it will be passworded.
