Paintball 2 Discussion / RIP - Former DP player no longer with us

For those of you who were around 6-7 years ago, you may remember "SniPa", younger brother of "OverBurn" and my younger cousin.

Unfortunately our beloved friend passed away at the very young age of 22 last Tuesday.

Some of you may not know him but as the DP community isn't extremely large, many of you might remember him. Therefore I thought it best to inform everyone here that we've lost a former player and great friend.

SniPa hasn't played in a very long time but I hope that we can all remember him and say a small prayer for him.

Unsure what any of that says.. my best guess is that I need to login.. or register.

lol Superman, I never left.. I just linger! but lately I've been playing every few days.. just barely go on IRC.  As for the comment from P!nk, how would I go about getting that done? Or do you think I should contact the person who registered it, out of courtesy first?

Alright here's the deal:

I've started playing DP a little more over the past few months after not playing for a while. I've been using "MeRL" for the past 10 years, and before that in QW. Up until recently (last Saturday), I had no issues connecting to servers. Last night and today I started getting auto kicked. Seems that someone has registered the name "merl" and thus I can't use it anymore.

Since I was able to connect to servers without registering my name, I never realized it was a requirement to register it in order to be the only one allowed to use it. I guess I haven't been following the new build's or news all that much and have simply played when I can.

Are there any suggestions on what I can do to simply use this name again.. the name I've been using since before Q2dp was even created?

Or am I completely S.O.L.?  
Any help is appreciated.

I agree with what you fellas have been saying about additional moderators however choose wisely if it does come down to this. Someone who hasn't been involved in any serious war of words.. (to our knowledge) and someone who may not hold a grudge.
In other words, I would NOT be a good moderator because I have something against the amount of useless and childish posts that a certain member of our community likes to write so if it was up to me, he'd be perm-banned and that may not be fair.
Unfortunately there isn't much that can be done to help people mature a little faster so I believe the only way to be rid of most of the flaming is moderation. On the forums and in the paintball servers. Not much can be done about mIRC..kids will be kids.

If you didn't catch the fact that I was making fun of the kid because  he's 'been around since build 14,' then you're an idiot.

For being as smart or more "advanced" then others in your schooling then you actually claim you are..I'm surprised you don't look at the big picture.
Loial pinned it right on, your sarcasm was CLEARLY obvious.. 
The problem is your childish posts don't help anyone. You think newbish attitude's don't help this game, then stop adding to it.
Regardless of the fact that he may think being around since build 14 is long or not, why take jabs at him? Does it help you sleep at night to know that you've been around longer then him?
A lot of us have been around since QW paintball, do you see any one else posting this childish nonsense?
Please, do the forums a favor, stop adding to the immaturity level.

Cracking is the term you are all looking for. A "hacker" is just slang for programmer.

You mean we're looking for the term "cheater".

Example: "omg, look at him, he's staring right through the wall and i've got it all on demo of him cracking"...just doesn't sound right.

Why is it okay for GT members to call other people campers and noobs and nobody else can say anything?

Now i've never seen this type of behaviour from the GT members personally ( i have seen casso get a little agressive but we've all had our moments  ) and I understand what you mean boomer, but the fact remains, it's their server. If I paid any dollar amount for a server and let random people use it at no cost, I would also reserve the right to do whatever the hell I please.
 In my opinion, GT admins don't NEED a reason to kick someone but they do what they can to be fair and eliminate any whining, cheating, trash talking etc.. For that I thank them because that's the way I like to play the game. If I get killed by a camper, i'll just remind myself to check there next time or pull the same move on him. excrement happens, people need to grow the F up and realize that it's a darn game.
In any case, I hope everyone can realize that GT is paying out of their own pockets for the public to be able to use these servers at no cost and I believe people should show a little more appreciation.

I come on here seeing that there are new posts and I expect to see information that is relative to the initial topic yet all i see from some people is "blah blah blah...yes i know blah blah. blah blah? Oh really? That's a great story, but blah blah" Holllllly crap. I know it's my fault for actually reading the entire post but please lock it.
