i didnt modify anything... thats what was said in the chatroom. when i asked darkness.

thnx for clearing up the real date though

umm about the modfied files. can i get some dcc logs of me sending darkness the file. when i asked him he didnt show me them...

Of all people a committee member should not have any cheat involvement. My opinion he deserves a 256*256 day ban. EDIT: Modified smoke files were not detected at the time Eiii.

You guys are idiots. I really hate this game and its community after this past week.

Do you know how many people there are in this community who hacked back when I first started playing, when ZGH was undetectable and so was Penix for a little while? a lot.

Bringing up logs to get people who have put a lot of time / effort into this game into trouble for something 3 years old is ridiculous.
And if you guys are telling me that DaRkNeSS isnt smart enough to know you can edit tga files in photoshop youre kidding me.

Just as a side note, Ez, Cal, (I think Jit was in there as well) and I had a discussion back in '99 about the problem with cheaters & hacks.

If everyone that has or does play DP ever did or "just inhaled" a cheat, then there would be like 2 players left.

Exactly the point I came on to make. I could wake up one morning, a log could be fabricated by me, and I would be banned soley because the committee hates me and would deem that as evidence of me hacking. When really no one should be banned off an IRC "log" seeing as there is no way to prove it is really what the individual said.

Him hacking in the past is not enough to ban him now. That was too long ago before there was any type of protection in place. However, someone like that should not be allowed on the committee, whether or not the committee members were voted on by the community or not. Don't ban him, but remove him from the committee.
