speaking of bad reviews... i've seen plenty of them for the "USB Root Hub" brand of keyboards and mice.
and i can only imagine how awesome your CrapTastic Monitor is!

My high precision £2.49 tesco optical cord mouse and £6 Sweex multimedia keyboard with office function attatchments are the best of the best in the line of adrenaline gaming. I buy them from USB Root Hub Corp, who put them through extensive quality testing. The ASUS blaghsadbljaxvyw series of case and motherboard combos is also top-notch professional equipment. The name originates from the lead designer, who, once he saw the awesome power he had created, lost his sanity and named the case before leaping from the 40 story building he lived in.

The monitor, however, is shi.t.

Right now for accessories i am looking for a cheap headset that i can use in team speak for recon. I actually want it to have bluetooth capabilities but i can use any cheap thing i get.

I'm on pretty much the same rig I built when HL2 came out. It's serving me pretty well, but my FPS in TF2 bothers me. I figure I'll upgrade as I get closer to graduation...
- 2600+ XP Mobile (32bit), overclocked around 3000+
- 1GB PC-4000
- nvidia 6800 Ultra (the last great AGP card)
- 400GB Seagate
- Not polluted with Vista

My hardcore development laptop:
- Can't use batteries; the circuit is fried (it thinks it is using a battery 50% of the time, though)
- Can't wiggle the cord too much; the DC jack needs to be re-soldered a second time
- The adapter cord itself is awesome; the male DC plug had slipped wires that caused it to fail, so I re-made it using epoxy and electric tape (right after carving the plug itself out from its plastic casing)... countless people waste $40+ just because of crappy wiring with adapters
- 1.4GHz, 768MB ram, 40GB hdd
- 500GB external hdd

i just bought a new video card dirt cheap from woot.com - a Visiontek Radeon X1950 Pro - for like $60. i'm upgrading from an X1650 Pro, which for you nvidia fans would be like going from a 7600 GT to a 7900 GT. took a pic of it with my webcam - it's a HOSS:

Only thing I like about radeon is their designs.

Anyway, a bit of an upgrade (for me) is the move between Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit to Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit to completely utilize my Processor on 64-bit applications.

ok, ok, wasn't trying to start an ati vs. nvidia thing. (although, unfortunately, its almost inevitable when an ati owner shows up in gaming circles :P )

i buy ati for the good performance-to-price ratio.

well, i could tell you that i've had a card that performs similarly but cost a lot less... but that would be irrelevant since we probably bought them at different times.

all i know is that when i want a new video card, i always start by looking in my price range. then i note which models from ati and nvidia are about the price i want, and then compare their performance using the chip charts at hardwaresecrets.com - and so far, ati has always come out on top for me.

especially so with this latest purchase: an 8800gt would be a bit more power but almost double what i just paid ;D
