I don't think it should be necessary for mappers to be forced to hand over a .map, you should be able to figure out most of these things (clip brushes, misaligned brushes, misaligned textures, hint brushes [just look at r_speeds], etc.) by just playing the map. If you get caught on something, well obviously that area wasn't clipped etc.

Not handing it over just means that nubs like chris123 or whoever can't jack your map and w/e ^_^

I just know if a good map is made SOMEONE will leak the .map file and then a crappy version will be made

I think that for the contest we should get an Arctic^ [OTB] or some other server and use that and have the server owners download the maps so everyone sees the .bsp File instead of the .map file.

The bsp file will be posted by everyone, and you can make your own server to look at it

yes, but there will be organized testing too right? Perhaps you could ask some experienced clans/players to match on each map, in addition to any testing/judging that the judges do.
