The clan Tier One Ops Is recriting
« on: April 23, 2014, 12:16:26 PM »
Hello I am Reilander. I started this clan in April 2014. I am looking for new recruits. I'm even accepting noobs! I hope to have this clan enter a league. But that will be hard. Just tell me if you want to join!
There are a few rules that must be followed(Sadly):
1. Don't teamkill on purpose
2. Don't be a spawn killing douchebag.
3. No hacks/mods.
4. If its clear you're playing with noobs, Be nice.
5. Don't be selfish or try to hog all of the clory for yourself. Because thats how we lose. We need to act as a team

Im so happy so see someone who wants to match as you do, couple of things.

Renting match servers:

To scrim other clans in a private setting go to this forum post and find out where to rent a private server: http://dplogin.com/forums/index.php?topic=6131.0
On all servers the settings are set up for matching, except OTB server where the gun-temp needs to be changed. Make sure you get the right location for your clan, some servers will cause more ping obviously.

In a match setting (which is different to a pub) the rules are different - Teamkilling is off, and this does not happen. Respawn killing is allowed because the respawn is 60 and it is very unlikely that you will be in the opponents base when they respawn.

If you want any help at all with setting up your clan or help with matching let me know and I will see what I can do. As good as you are on a pub, its very hard when playing in a match, and its not the same.

All the best

Welcome to Digital Paint: Paintball 2' Forums and competitive clan scene.

Its always great to see new members who are willing to join the clan scene. I know this, because ive been through it, like every player who plays DP in clan scenes. Just a bit of info that might help you out. Im sure that you are proberly aware of basic gameplay, since its based on Quake 2 engine which is unique to other fps games out there. Here are some basic tricks/tips that might help you out, if you dont know these: 1) Strafing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5G8LYDZGeQ ~ by Kyuuchi
2) Basic jumping tutorials- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bI239XH0PSM ~ by Skyline

Also a tip from Ranger on how to aim:
AIMING

This is a key thing in this game. If you have got good and stabile internet, this will be your advantage against others and you will be able to enjoy the game more… But if your connection is not that perfect - than it will be your limitation, scoring will be more difficult for you.

How to minimize your limitation and let increase your chances?

1)   In many cases is better first shoot and then aim. Simply don´t waste your time by aiming and then shooting.

2)   Move your hand faster (you don´t need necessarily to change your mouse sensitivity, just move your hand faster).

3)   Keep your hand relaxed, don´t be in a tension. Tension frozes your hand. Tension comes when we "really need to win!".

4)   Most people are jumping over the lines. Do your lines rather above than bellow. But also be prepared for your enemy´s crouch.

5)   Don´t line too much. Enemy can hear you and then it´s for him much easier to estimate where you probably are. "Be invisible"

6)   You can try some easy hand script. For example, this one is mine:

bind "MOUSE1" "+attack"
bind "MOUSE2" "+changer"
bind "MOUSE3" "hand 2"
alias +changer "hand 1"
alias -changer "hand 3"

MOVEMENT

1)   When enemy shoots at you at a large distance - don´t move too fast from right to left and from left to right, because there is certain delay in your enemy´s balls which he fired into your direction and it may happen that you would jump into his line.

2)   When you encounter enemy, don´t jump immideatelly back to the position from where you came and where the enemy first saw you - you could easilly jump into his shot.

3)   Don´t stay at one place too long, change your positions. Don´t do all the time the same things. Be present. For your enemy will be much more difficult to determine where you are and where you will be.

4)   Watch your back for campers.

5)   Remember that you have a time, you don´t have to rush at all cost, play with your enemy :-)

You can also try visualisation or imagination. Simply imagine that you are going to score this round. (Every our image, thought or conviction is being written into our subconscious mind and subconscious mind then automatically controls our external behavior and action).

Last tip: Do not want to be better than someone else

Of course these videos wont make you a "pro" just by watching this video, it takes years to master Digital Paintball 2's gameplay and at times it may even get frusterating but dont let that get you down. Here are other things that might allow your clan to thrive more. In Digital Paintball 2 people tend to use Team Speak 3, Venterilo, Irc to communicate for clan matches. There are alot of pugs that occur as well. Team Speak 3( google it) is a Voice recon, same thing with Venterilo, as for IRC people tend to idle there in either their clan channel or #paintball : http://digitalpaint.org/irc/index.html    connects through Globalgamers.net
Recommended Channels: #Paintball #Prozak (Click on a player i.e. Jitspoe and then click whois to see all the other paintball channels that person is on.)

Just a heads up when reserving Private Match Servers, OTB is an Euro server short for Europe. uR, prozak, Superman's, and cF are all NA server short for North American. When reserving a server you don't need to change any of the settings. Put in the desired password and answer the bot question and you should be fine. They are all based on a fixed setting which is meant for clan matching.

Hope you enjoy this unique game, its extremely fun. One of the most, if not the most, fun game i ever played and I have played a lot of FPS games.

Reilander, is point 3 too important, or will you allow me to join despite having hacks?

As long as you don't use them in a private match. If you suck without hacks your out of luck.

lol. Payl is our mini troll on the forums. The biggest troll that we as in digital paintball 2 have is Jitspoe, if you ever see him on forums or in game; tell everyone "TROLL ALERT". Just be cautious of him. Hes a dangerous person to deal with, rumor has it that he has thrown away his ethics/morals and sold his soul to the goddess of trollithaa. Also he will act like he runs the game, HE DOESNT, im sure that you wont be fooled by him. Don't trust what he has to offer you, he's a very keengreen man.

Jitspoe. Beware of him.  NP man. Take it ez. That was my last advice. Just to show how much of troll he is, I'll tell you a little story about Jitspoe. The original website for dplogin was dpball. Its said that it was jitspoe who did something or someone and the whole website crashed. That's why digital paint had to get a new website: dplogin.com

LOL :D .

Toxiic is obviously lying. He got banned by jitspoe for hacks, don't listen to him!
I'm troll #1 and jitspoe is our god, i.e. he develops this awesome game. Jitspoe is my best bro, Clipz being his second-best bro.
If you ever run ingame to jitspoe, be sure to say he is your god. Otherwise you might get banned. And don't listen to Toxiic and Clipz. They want to fool you.

That being said, you PMed me about my ingame name. It's not payl, obviously.

Come on guys ^^

Something more relevant, what toxiic said in the first post are pretty good advices. Also to get into matching scene, just try to find match on servers, but also learn how to use irc. Its pretty necessary for leagues/tournaments.
http://dplogin.com/forums/index.php?topic=10091.0

As for some reference to real matches, you might learn something from watching others. Try going through bantero.us, there are demos uploaded from many players. If you want to know which demos to watch, just pick some clans of from tournaments that happened (clans/matches/tournaments section in this forum) and then try to find them on bantero.us

I suggest accepting these people's advices, although not all noobs have forum accounts. I also suggest going to a pub and start recruiting. Good luck in your clan! ;)

Please learn proper usage of "your" and "you are".
But yes, I'm troll, not even minitroll as Toxiic described me.

Said guy who can't really do it on his own :) .

Let's be honest: You are newbie, we are pros. Why do you expect us to join ur newbie clan? Because you have nice avatar?

Then you are not newbie, you are noob. If you were playing somewhat decend for 3 years, I'm sure we would notice you. And you would have some idea how forum works. This is why you are noob before you start crying.

Seriously, why newbs always think they know best while they don't know anything...

At least I tried to be nice.

I hate to break it to you, but the current bots suck. jitspoe is busy developing new bots, which will hopefully have more skill than the current ones. If you want to gain skill, you could have a pro train you, scrimmage someone who's better than you on a match server, or heck, go to a pub or speed and try to dominate.
