I don't even know how to find out. Whatever comes standard with the hp pavilion dv6**** laptop
Settings->Control Panel->Device Manager->Display adapters

Have you tried manually updating the drivers instead of using the default ones?

This.

When I updated my computer from windows 7 to windows 10, the first think I noticed was that my resolution was way off, even though it should be HD settings. Since this windows is a completely different infrastructure and design, I went to device manager and updated my drivers manually. There where 3-4 "yellow caution" signs. If there is, right click them and update them.

If that's not the case, what is windows did you have? I'm asking because windows 10 update is not available for windows 7 Enterprise and Windows 8.1 RT. Did you use the Microsoft creation tool? Or was there a bit windows sign that allowed you to update?

I got asked thru Microsoft (my comp, w/e) to reserve an update. I'll try the device manager

I didn't see any caution flags, I updated from windows 8 I think.

Also this fps thing doesn't happen with Call of Duty on the same laptop so I'm not sure what it could be

Should I look up a Radeon graphics card install from a website or something?

KDE 5.4 is much more awesome and it's really for free.
You say Win 10 is free? Not really, we pay Microsoft with our privacy.

Yes, thats true (also take a look at skype, FB, Google ;-)), but 70% of the privacy-killer functions can be disabled.

EDIT: KDE looks very nice, is it possible to install Arch Linux or Xubuntu besides Win10 and then install KDE on it?

Well, the thing is now they actually said it out loud what they are monitoring. Pretty sure they are still monitoring something which can't be disabled and wouldn't be surprised if win7/8 did so as well.

Linux is cute, but the issue is that it is not the mainstream platform so the the number of actually good and quality apps is pretty inferior to Windows (taking games into account). Also, you need to do like an hour research before you can do anything out of ordinary. Eg. I wanted to install JDE so I can run NetBeans, well it took like 5-10 minutes to find a 12 step tutorial on how to actually install it correctly. But yea, as a reward for that, you can be pretty much sure that developers aren't spying on you.

Hmm, yes this is sad. I think I'll downgrade.

Sounds like it doesn't matter because they're rolling out updates to windows 7 and 8 that have the same questionable "features".
