Mapping question
« on: April 05, 2004, 12:44:41 AM »
How do you make players start off with weapon, and empty/ready to shoot co2 on spawn. I have tried givegun, giveammo,givebarrel,giveco2, etc. None of these work, quake2 says "Bad Field -> givegun == "automag"".

Quake2?  I'd hate to see how crappy the game looks for you, but you might be using an ancient version before spawning with weapons worked -- does it work when you load other maps with it?  Half-pipe, for example?

Um, this game doesn't use quake2 anymore -- try it on the alpha and see if it works.

It lags hard, dont like the player models etc. Cant move like you can in quake2.

Have you tried build 10?

Also, you can just copy the Quake2 player models over.

Sounds to me like you have an old version of the server code. Get the alpha and copy the gamex86.dll from the pball directory into your quake2/pball directory.
