alright, after going through some things in this game, some things i can think of that would be a nice little addition for new players.
-When you execute pball2.exe it should load to the menu, not the console, yes i am lazy, as are most gamers.
-double click support for joining games, again, a lazyness thing, but it makes the feel of the menu more complete. IMO
-The shadows on the ground for all the models seem like...they are pices floating next to each other, maybe soften them, or an option in the menu to make them like that.  If you want a sshot of what im talking about ask, ill get you one.

I know most are minor things, except the shadow thing. Idk, tell me what you think.

It does load the menu.

Double clicking, right clicking, scroll bars, extended server info, and lots of other stuff are on the todo list. :)

There's no easy way to do soft shadows.  Don't expect them any time soon.  I have some ideas, but it will be a pretty massive undertaking to get them implemented as well as require a new map format.

sounds like a plan, for the shadows thing, there is a Q2 engine called Quake 2 Evolved, and i like the shadows they implimented into their engine, i think its open source, maybe you could 'borrow' some of their ideas instead of pulling your hair out over it.  Otherwise its not something that desperately needs fixing or anything, its an eyecandy thing =).

Q2E doesn't have soft shadows.  They're basically the same as what we have now.

You ever thought of adding a balanced teams thing? its annoying when 3 people drop from a team and people on the other side wont switch.

Uhh, automatic screenshots of the scoreboard when the map is over.  If possible, when the clock hits N/A for timeleft, then trigger the ss (hopefully this hsan't already been asked).

how bout 1 sec after the clock hits n/a, in ctf, so you don't get a 1st person pic.

I can do that.  The screenshot should probably include the date, time, and map in the filename, no?  Maybe something like:
scores_midnight_20040319pm0751.jpg?

Actually might be better to put the date before the mapname, like:
scores_20040319pm0751_midnight.jpg

So when you sort by filename, all the scores show up in chronological order.

Uhmm, I know I've made a big stink about this.. but why don't you just incorporate a teamspeak program into the alpha.  I've played a few Half life based games that have the voice command built into the game itself (natural selection, hlpball).  I don't know how it could be done, but I bet it could be.

Or you could just download the program and save me the work. ;)

True, but then the game would be completely fair, everybody uses it.

If there is an acceptable app to use it with pball, get the name out, and package that particular app with Digital Paintball.  I mean, this game needs exposure, and why not get some more by adding say roger wilco, or some app of that type, doesnt really matter.  But to make it easy for new players have it all right in one package =)

If I delete the pages then I won't have a record of what people requested. :P  Besides, you can just click on which page number you want to go to.  You don't have to start at the beginning.
