Jitspoe:
NC is just fine with me. If you are going to move it anywhere just go down the road to Atlanta. Atlanta is a major hub for the east coast. There are plenty of rentable gaming spots in Atlanta. But, NC, GA, FL don't matter to me. I'll be there.

THAT'S RIGHT...I AM the ONLY person, beside Jitspoe of course, that has made it to BOTH DPCONs. I do accept Pay-Pal donations, btw!

Lemme know if you are considering Atlanta. I may be able to help out logictically. I do live in the ATL, afterall.

I think there are more people closer to Charlotte, but Atlanta might work...  I need to check out Netplay and see if it will be a good place for DPCon.  If not, we may go the Atlanta route.

If you want to research some gaming centers and paintball fields in the meantime, let me know if you find anything interesting.

Remember, if any of them Texas folk are coming Atlanta would be the distand between Atlanta And Charlotte closer. People from up north and midwest would fair better to Charlotte (pronounced "Char Latte").

Here's a huge list of LAN places throughout the country. Some dead links.

Here's a place in atl not sure if on above list.

My latest post got lost when the forum went down, but it was basically this:

I got back in touch with David, the guy who runs Atlantis Gaming Center.  They've relocated again, but the new location should be better the corner of a skate park it was shoved into last time.  They have 7 computers, which should be plenty to cover the people who can't bring their own.  The plan is still the weekend of July 23rd in Charlotte.

I'm going to check out the new place this weekend if I can.

Only 3 more months!

Oh, and I checked out the new place.  Plenty of room there.  Much better than the skate park.  If you haven't seen it already, I have the events page set up for dpcon2005: http://www.planetquake.com/digitalpaint/events/dpcon2005.html

Open to suggestions for activities and tournaments!

Interesting turn of events: the next Atlantis all-nighter is going to be on the same day as DPCon.  This can be good.  It means we'll probably be able to get a whole bunch of people playing that night.  20-30 people playing pball on a LAN would be great. ;D  I'll have to talk to Dave about it, but it could also mean we could run DPCon all night.  Perhaps people would be more interested in doing that than going out and playing real paintball?  I dunno, just a thought.  Real paintball is fun, though, so maybe it wouldn't be a good idea to pass that up.  Hah, we're going to be so tired after this.

Hmm, what would be a good name for this -- we've done it a few times on the servers -- with the "nokill" setting, it's fun to play maps like bombsaway and try to knock other players into the environmental hazards.  That'd be a fun dpcon event -- bombsaway, splat mesa, kots, hmm, what else....

It'll be overnight if you want to play real paintball on Sunday.
