what has does fact a player is european have to do with them being compelled to grenade rush every round?
Considering you said that, I find its usually the kids pinging over 100 in OTB servers that actually kill themeselves every round, followed by "gee whizz, this darn grenade killed me again ma"
When is someone like bain doing that kind of comments (and its not the first time), instead of the usual ignorant americans, i really feel like theres nothing we can do besides live with it, wich is really sad..
meh..who cares, just a game right?
Sorry for acting all
American and "hating on" Europeans. Let me clarify my post.
If you are European and have started playing before July 9th 2001, then this and my previous statement were not intended towards you (I am truly sorry, Ruddy
). Regardless of whether or not you are European and you have started playing on or after July 9th 2001, then you have never had the experience of playing with the original paint grenades. If you have never played with the original paint grenades, then it is highly likely that your tactics when it comes to the use of the paint grenades probably have involved you throwing them at your feet to eliminate up to 6 opponents at once.
During this time; since there are typically two paint grenades for each team, which spawn every thirty seconds, by the end of a map your feet are probably covered in your own paint. Since jitspoe has enforced the grenade suicide rule, players' pants and shoes have much cleaner and paint grenade spam is almost tolerable by those who have started playing prior to July 9th 2001.
The
standard grenade settings as they are right now are pretty good considering how horrible they've been in recent years. For competitive rules, I wouldn't mind seeing friendly fire turned on for grenades since throwing them besides teammates to
save them is pretty cheap. This is definitely not a feasible setting for pubs though.
I think that losing your ammo, gun, hopper, barrel, whatever isn't a very good idea either. Grenade suicide is a concequence you have to take when using this ultra-death weapon. If you unbind +tossgren from your
panic button, you won't kill yourself with them nearly as much. I've probably killed myself with a paint grenade twice in the last ten matches. I can say I've foolishly jumped into the most obvious lines a lot more than twice in those same ten.
