It's been ages since I've logged into these forums, but I happened to be poking around on the internet today and ended up here. I saw you had posted so I thought I'd reply... thank you for the feedback! While I don't really have any interest in working on these maps any further, I just wanted to say that it was so amusing to read through all the old posts on here. This community was fun, and mapping for and playing this game is a cherished memory from my teenage years. (A lot of the maps from around 2006-7 are still on my PC - lots of jumping puzzles, community maps, and other odd maps I downloaded back then.) That being said, looking back on some things I wrote or said to people on these forums, I've had some good "cringe" moments here and there... It's really interesting how the internet can effectively chronicle your life during a time period. This was one of the only forums I ever got involved with during those years. All in all, just wanted to say that this forum and game were always interesting, and thanks to jitspoe for providing that experience... free of charge! It's crazy how much a video game sticks with you as you grow up, and I'll never forget this game. Thanks again!

My ram was brand new as well. Removing and replacing the ram sort of "clears it". As i said, i'm not really sure what fixed it, just that i did all of those things and now it works. However, I returned that card after buying a new motherboard, now i have a PNY GeForce 8400 GS.

PCI Express is 100000000000000000 times better than pci <- notice how i didn't capitalize pci for emphasis, it's that bad.

My card will run DirectX9, but I've noticed better performance in games such as Portal and Team Fortress 2 when I run them in DirectX8. However, I can't seem to get Gary's Mod 10 to run in DirectX8. I know for tf2 and Portal all I had to do was add -dxlevel 80 to the shortcut. But is there any way to default your games to run in DirectX8?

Demo fast forward too. Actually, there should just be a seek bar where you can drag the slider to a certain spot in the demo.

Not sure which games are OpenGL, but I seem to be able to run most games fine, and I have downloaded nVidia's newest drivers.

Problem Solved. Here's exactly what I did in case it might help someone else. (not sure which thing fixed it)

Removed and replaced RAM
Removed card and uninstalled video card drivers
Disabled integrated card
Re Installed Video Card and Drivers - now it works.
