Have you gone to your computer manufacturer's site for drivers? Thats where I got mine, and nVidia hasn't released any 'final' drivers on their site yet.

nvidia has Win x32 and Win x64 drivers for Vista, also his card is ATI, but he cannot come through and give us a specific model...

goto your desktop, right click, goto properties, goto Settings tab, and under display it should show your monitor name and model # and what its connected too, look at what its connected too and post back, or take a screenshot for example the video card is circled in picture:

https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/674/9206/0/www2.ati.com/drivers/7-3_vista32_dd_ccc_enu_43741.exe -- is that the driver you downloaded?

Oh, and try shutting off the fancy vista themes and crap that use hardware acceleration.  I think that might break OpenGL.

Uh... which one is it?

And AMD and ATI merged.  Try installing that driver I linked above and see if it helps any.  As for shutting off the fancy themes, I think you right click on the desktop and go to properties.  It should be in there somewhere.  Set it to the "classic" theme and see if that helps (after installing the new drivers).

Right click on the desktop, select "Personalize" then "Theme" (2nd from bottom).

Type "cl_drawfps 1" at the console to see what framerate you're getting.

You can't hot-link akamai resources like that  :-\

Bummer, try this:
http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/vista32/integrated-vista32.html

Click on the "Catalyst Software Suite (32 bit)" download link.

Also, with as many posts as you've made, you might as well register an account so you can edit your posts and stuff.

okay...i already had a account but was never signing on...

so i did the cl_drawfps 1

and it showed me at 40 and lower in a room by myself.
and it wasn't choppy

when i got into a room with ppl in it...it jumped from 40 to 90 back down again...then thats when it becomes choppy
