I'm pretty sure it's just to show that there's a fair/huge amount of opposition to the idea.

lol, based on what was "-" voted, i guess no one likes the walljump idea, besides cola, who i think was just proving a point. might as well remove it then from the vote counting as it probably hit an all time record as most negatively vote idea in the history of DP. Oh well, i try. ;D

thats something though, what if it 50 people vote for something but 1000 people dont want it. will it be implemented because it would be top on the list.

what if noone except the people that voted for it dont want faster downloading (just an example) but it is implemented, pissing off the rest of the community

It's a better system than what was done before, i.e. taking away -Z tricks, capping FPS, capping gl_modulate, forcing impact grenades, adding strafe jump tripping and making it default, or screwing with the flag system and still leaving it defaulted.  At least people have to vote for it and it gives people a chance to discuss it rather than implement it, cripple the game, then discuss and fix.

New Request

Regarding: Game

+1 for soluble paintballs.  As far as I know, there is currently no disadvantage for being in water too long (i.e. drowning or loss of health) and that doesn't make sense for a one-hit kill, paintball game, but I think it'd be a unique idea to implement soluble paintballs, therefore if you underwater trip is prolonged , while you're under the water, some of your paintballs would dissolve (paintballs = gelatin, dissolve in water), so that there is a disadvantage to water-camping or staying underwater too long, and it adds a unique element to the game.

That's not really a good idea. Ever been beaten by a water camper? I rather prefer to stay outta the water ingame.

If you stay underwater for too long, you die.

huh? You can barely shoot under water and as Eiii mentioned you do drown.
