When you create the MD2 file, you have to set the texture size smaller.  The size of the image itself doesn't matter.  It's the resolution stored in the md2 file that it's complaining about.

For whoever wanted the turtle, here is the .wings, .3ds, and the textures, you'll have to convert to md2 or skm yourself.

edit: Cone also, same story.

Once solid models are implemented, would it be better for the r_speeds/ preformence to use model based crates and barrels instead of brush based?

Nope, probably not.  It would better and there would be less room for misaligned textures, but I doubt it would become the standard.  Jitspoe is very conscious of polies, I'm sure I'd have hell to pay for suggesting we ditch brushes.

Models don't have collision data, so unless you want to walk through crates, you need to make them out of brushes.

I thought that's what he was getting at:

Clip brushes?  Or transparent ones to stop paintballs/nades too?

However, it gives you more freedom in the complexity of the crate for the sake of visuals.

Is there anyway to rotate a model within the editor?  i.e. Change the direction so all my trees don't look identical.

I've read almost every page on this whole site, 11 pages is nothing.  Notice to all: If you're not going to read first, don't post.
